Director Ryan Coogler has confirmed that Black Panther 3 is officially in development. When asked about the project’s status, he succinctly stated, “Working. Yeah, working” .

 • Denzel Washington Joins the Cast: Coogler has crafted a role specifically for Denzel Washington, referring to him as “the greatest living actor.” Washington had previously hinted at his involvement, and Coogler later confirmed it, emphasizing their long-standing desire to collaborate . 

 • Potential Recasting of T’Challa: Following Chadwick Boseman’s passing, Marvel Studios initially decided not to recast T’Challa. However, recent comments from actor Damson Idris have fueled speculation about a potential recasting. When asked about discussions with Marvel regarding the role, Idris responded with a cryptic “yes-no,” and expressed enthusiasm about taking on the role if offered . 

 • Director’s Previous Commitments: Coogler delayed the development of Black Panther 3 to focus on his film Sinners, a personal project that allowed him to explore stories outside established franchises. With Sinners now completed, Coogler has turned his attention back to the Black Panther franchise .  

🗓️ Release Timeline

As of now, there is no official release date for Black Panther 3. The film is in the early stages of development, with casting and storyline details still being finalized. Marvel Studios has yet to announce a production schedule or release timeline.

Fans can look forward to the animated series Eyes of Wakanda, set to premiere on Disney+ on August 6, 2025. This anthology series will delve into the history of Wakandan warriors and their missions to retrieve vibranium artifacts throughout history .
